Cirro Marlborough Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 13-Feb-2013
Bright, very pale straw colour with the faintest suggestion of blush, near colourless on rim. The bouquet is light and delicate with subtle aromas of white stonefruits, pears and honeysuckle that develops lifted and perfumed nuances of florals and spices. Dry to taste, the fruit flavours are somewhat shy and restrained, but the palate has good weight and presence, with a firm core. Some phenolic textures show, adding to the mouthfeel and depth, and the acidity features, carrying through to a dry, textured finish. This is an aromatic Pinot Gris with a textural palate. Serve with first courses over the next 2+ years. Fruit from mid-Wairau Valley stainless-steel fermented to 12.8% alc. and 1.6 g/L rs, the wine given lees contact. 16.0-/20 Feb 2013 RRP $22.99
