Cicada ‘Green Grocer’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 02-Apr-2015
Bright, pale straw colour with slight green hues, pale on edge. The nose is fresh, tight and punchy with intense aromas of passionfruit and gooseberries. The fruit has refreshing and mouthwatering purity, revealing lifted stonefruit and white floral elements in the glass. Dr to taste and light-medium bodied, the fruit is moderately deep with fresh and intense, juicy passionfruit and tropical fruit flavours alongside gooseberry and fresh herbal notes. Thirst-quenching acidity and a fine-textured phenolic line underlines the fruit, carrying the wine to a dry, light-flavoured, lingering finish. This is a tightly bound and moderately concentrated, juicy Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit and gooseberry flavours. Serve with seafood and Pacific Rim fare over the next 18 months to 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Riverby’ vineyard, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and dryness, the wine given some lees contact. 16.5+/20 Apr 2015 RRP $19.00
