Deep ruby-red with a purple undertone, lighter on edge. This has a rich, broody bouquet with aromas of violet entwined with blackberry, dark plum, bergamot, spice and mealiness. Full-bodied, mealy blackberry and dark plum aromas have a savoury edge, enveloping black pepper, violet, bergamot and dark cocoa. The mouthfeel is smooth, filled with fine-grained ripe, yet firm tannin. Plush, lively acidity persists and lends a long, elegant finish. This enticing, broody Syrah possesses rich fruit and floral components, fine-structured tannin and a persistent, long finish. Match with venison backstrap and lamb cutlets over the next 6-8 years.
