Cherry Orchard Bannockburn Central Otago Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 04-Feb-2017
Full, even straw-yellow colour with some depth and light golden hues. This has a fresh nose with a slender, but firm core of white stonefruits and a layer of nutty and minerally lees along with notes of white florals and chalk. The aromatics are bright, mouthwatering and steely. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is elegant in proportion with refreshing, vibrant white stonefruit flavours along with white floral nuances, unfolding nutty and minerally detail. The mouthfeel is zesty with a tightly bound, slender core of subtle textures carried by the acidity, leading to a lingering, brisk finish of stonefruits and minerals. This is a crisp, slender, dry Pinot Gris with white stonefruit and mineral flavours. Match with seafood and creamy-sauced white meat dishes over the next 3 years. Pinot Gris fruit fermented 75% in tank and 25% in seasoned oak to14.0% alc. and 4 g/L RS, all of the wine aged 5 months on lees with batonnage. 17.0+/20 Feb 2017 RRP $22.00
