Chehalem ‘Reserve’ ‘Ridgecrest Vineyards’ Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from USA
Review Date : 02-Aug-2013
Moderately deep, purple-hued ruby-red colour. This has a softly dense nose with packed aromas, a little shy in expression and lift. Dark red berry fruits intermingle with dark herbs, and distinctive coffee-mocha notes of oak char and reduction become prevalent. Medium-bodied, this has density and richness of flavour, the expression a little muted and round, but gently building, with sweetness. Dark berried fruits are infused with oak and charry elements, and supported by grainy tannins providing underlying structure. Though rich and dense, the fruit is somewhat overwhelmed by the oak and reductive elements. 4-5+ years. Fruit from ‘Ridgecrest Vineyards’ from the Ribbon Ridge AVA, fermented to 13.1% alc., the wine aged 11 months in 30% new French oak barrels. 444 cases made. 18.0-/20 Jul 2013 RRP USD $60.00
