Charles Wiffen Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 20-Nov-2013
Bright pale straw colour near colourless on rim. This has a fresh and gentle bouquet with delicate and lifted aromas of gooseberries, yellow stonefruits and herbs, revealing lifted floral and sweet pea notes in the glass. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, moderately concentrated and bound fruit flavours of sweet, ripe gooseberries intermingle with yellow stonefruits and herbs, forming a smooth flowing core and palate line. Some fine drying textures and fresh, firm, mouthwatering acidity underlines the fruitiness, bringing out lifted floral and herbal nuances. The flavours follow a crisp, textural line to a long and sustained, dry, minerally finish. This is an attractive, mouthwateringly dry Sauvignon Blanc with and array of aromatic fruit flavours. Match with antipasto, tapas, seafood and vegetables over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Wiffen’ blocks in the Southern Valleys, fermented with 14% in seasoned French oak barriques to 13.3% alc. and 1.1 g/L RS. 18.0-/20 Nov 2013 RRP $21.35 Disclaimer: This wine is distributed by ‘Wine2Trade’, the company under which ‘Raymond Chan Wine Reviews’ operates
