Charles Wiffen Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 09-Apr-2013
Bright, pale straw colour with slight green hues. The nose is fresh, bright and lively with aromas od gooseberries and blackcurrant leaf, aromatically lifted with nuances of tropical fruits, citrus, green capsicums and nettle-like notes. Dry to taste, tightly bound flavours of gooseberries, blackcurrant leaves, capsicums and herbs form an elegantly concentrated core. The mouthfeel is fine and firm with slippery, mouthwatering acidity. The flavours flow with good linearity and subtle textures to a moderately sustained, dry finish featuring white florals, fresh herbs and limes. This is an elegant ant tightly contained, thirst-quenching Sauvignon Blanc with aromatic gooseberry flavours. Serve with seafood, salads, vegetables and most Asian fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from various parcels from the Wiffen vineyards in the Southern Valleys, fermented with 15% in seasoned French barriques to 12.9% alc. and 2.3 g/L rs. 17.5+/20 Apr 2013 RRP $21.35 Disclaimer: This wine is distributed by ‘Wine2Trade’, the company under which ‘Raymond Chan Wine Reviews’ operates
