A blend of 97% Syrah and 3% Viognier from the Colombia Valley, co-fermented to 13.5% alc. with 30% whole clusters, the wine spending 25 days on skins and aged on seasoned oak. Very dark, purple-hued ruby-red colour, lighter on the rim. This has a full, intense, but rounded nose packed with aromas of ripe blueberry and dark-red berry fruits harmoniously melded with dark herbal layers along with jam notes and black minerals. Medium-full bodied, ripe and plush, sweet dark plum fruit flavours are integrated with blackberry and blueberry fruits, jam, and a subtle background layering of dark herbs. The flavours are up-front and the sweetness enhanced by some alcoholic drive. Soft, grainy textures background the fruit and gently guide the palate to an elegantly concentrated, rich finish of liquorice and plum jam. This is a full, sweetly ripe and plush Syrah with black and blue fruits, a complexing herbal layer and fine tannin structure.
