Charcoal Gully ‘Sallys Pinch’ Central Otago Gewurztraminer 2008

Gewurztraminer from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 09-Oct-2013
Brilliant, even, pale straw colour with lemon-green hues. This has a light nose with a complex amalgam of honey, root ginger, spices, exotic tropical fruits and secondary hair-oil aromas that gently grow in volume and breadth. Off-dry to taste and medium-light bodied, flavours of musk, yellow florals and creaming soda are entwined with ginger and hair-oil, showing secondary development. This has a firm, dry core with some alcohol drive. The mouthfeel is tending dry, with low acidity providing a round, broadness to the palate, and the flavours lead to a dry, lingering finish with honey and spice nuances. This is a light Gewurztraminer showing secondary oily development and some drying. Match with Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 12+ months. Fruit WBP and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 6 g/L RS. Winemaker: Carol Bunn. 16.0+/20 Oct 2013 RRP $17.99
