Chapoutier ‘Belleruche’ Cotes du Rhone 2013

Grenache from France - Rhone
Review Date : 04-Sep-2014
Dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour with light purple on the rim. The nose is tightly bound with up-front, fruit-forward aromas of dark red berry and raspberry fruit aromas infused with herb and minerally elements, unfolding nuances of earth and pepper, along with lifted florals. Medium-bodied, the fruit expression is shy, showing light dark raspberry and peppery flavours. Soft, dry tannins support the fruit and moderate acidity provide a mellow mouthfeel. The palate flows to a gentle finish with sweet red fruit notes. This is a light, soft and accessible, raspberry-fruited Cotes du Rhone. Serve with risotto, pasta and Mediterranean cuisine over the next 3 years. Grenache and Syrah from the Drome, Vaucluse, Gard and Ardeche, fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine on skins 15 days and aged in vat. 16.5/20 Sep 2014 RRP $25.99
