Chalk Hill ‘The Procrastinator’ McLaren Vale 2010

Cabernet Franc from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 17-Mar-2012
A blend of 65% Cabernet Franc, 20% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon fermented to 13.5% alc. Named in honour of John Harvey, Chalk Hill's patriarch who ‘excelled at putting off till another day what could have been done today'. Very dark, dense, purple-hued black-red colour. The nose is soft and full with aromas of ripe, dark raspberry fruit with notes of florals, currants, dusty dried herbs and tobacco. Medium-full bodied, this has mildly expressed flavours of redcurrants and savoury plums backed by supple tannins and modest acidity giving a rounded texture. A little alcohol is noticeable providing warmth and body. This is a softly presented and warm red to match with roasted meats dishes over the next 4-5+ years. 16.0+/20 Mar 2012 RRP AU$18.00
