Ch. Tauzinat l’Hermitage St Emilion Grand Cru 2009

Merlot from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 20-Jun-2012
A 9 ha estate run by Catherine Moueix of the famous Moueix family. Consultant oenologist is Prof. Denis Dubourdieu. 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. Medium-deep ruby-red colour with some purple hues. This is soft, full and broad on nose, with aromas of ripe red plums, tobacco and earth, very Merlot in expression, and a little gamey interest. Medium-bodied, soft, sweet plummy fruit flavours are the feature, unfolding notes of earth and cedary oak. The extraction is modest, with the acidity apparent. A little on the slender side, this has sweet fruit and vibrancy. It should keep well over 5-6 years. 16.0+/20 Jun 2012 RRP $33.50
