Ch. Suduiraut Sauternes 2009

Sweet Wine from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 13-Aug-2013
1er Cru, 90 ha in Preignac, 90% Sem and 10% Sau. 14.0% alc. Brilliant, deep, light golden yellow colour. The bouquet is initially shy and unformed with a little reduction apparent, but unfolds to reveal classic aromas of waxy, lanolin Semillon interwoven with citrus marmalade, nuts, honey and botrytis. The richness and detail of the fruit, oak and botrytis are beautifully intricate in expression. Very sweet and luscious, the opulence and unctuousness builds in the glass. The palate has power and a perfectly composed, harmonious core with depth and dimension. Superbly rich, but also poised, citrus, waxy, honey and nutty flavours flow seamlessly through the palate. The wine is mouthfilling, yet cut and refined by near-racy acidity that adds energy and linear drive. A very long, detailed and nuanced finish makes this a complete and classical Sauternes. 15-20 years. (375 ml) 19.5/20 Aug 2013 RRP $130.00
