Ch. Smith Haut-Lafitte Pessac-Leognan 2007

Cabernet Sauvignon from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 08-Jun-2011
Cru Classe, 45 ha of 55 ha planted to red, 55% CS, 10% CF, 33% Me, 2% PV. Very densely coloured, saturated black-red with purple hues, this has a very full nose marked by toasty, spicy oak, dominant over the dark red berry fruit aromas. On palate, dark plum flavours with Merlot fruit-cake, and game with tobacco show under the oak toastiness. The wine has firm tannins and noticeable acidity which add a drive and line through the palate. This will keep 6-8 years, but the oakiness will always be a strong component.   Jun 2011
