Ch. Senejac Haut-Medoc 2009

Cabernet Sauvignon from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 25-Nov-2011
Cru Bourgeois, run by the Cordier family with Alfred Tesseron's Pontet-Canet team in the vineyard. 28 ha of vines planted on the 150 ha estate. 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot, the wine aged 15 months in 30% new barriques. Dark ruby-red colour, this is elegantly presented on bouquet with fine blackcurrant fruit aromas along with minty notes, the oaking sensitive and integrated. Medium-bodied, this is tightly bound and fine-grained in structure. A little lean and classical claret in style, clear-cut blackcurrant flavours are to the fore, with a little cool mintiness. The acidity is fresh, and provides liveliness and focus. This should develop over the next 7-9 years. 17.0/20 Nov 2011  RRP $37.50
