Ch. Pichon Longueville Baron Pauillac 2008

Cabernet Sauvignon from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 29-Sep-2011
2eme, 70 ha, 60% CS, 4% CF, 35% Me, 1% PV Full, dark ruby-red colour with good depth, youthful in appearance. The nose is very full and shows robust, very ripe blackberry and dark red plum aromas with notes of chocolate. Oaking is sensitive and well-integrated. A fulsome, dense and solidly rich wine on palate, the ripe black berry fruits and plum flavours are sweet and lush, and a little restrained, but brooding. Densely weighted, there are ripe, fine tannins than provide good rounded structure and grip to carry the fruit. Oak is in harmony with the fruit flavours. This is approaching opulence with is richness. This will cellar 12-15+ years. 18.5/20 Sep 2011 RRP $305.00
