Ch. Pape-Clement Pessac-Leognan 2008

Cabernet Sauvignon from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 29-Sep-2011
33 ha, 60% CS, 40% Me Full, near-impenetrable black-red colour, this has a huge, powerfully concentrated nose of very ripe dark red berry, earth and chocolate aromas, brooding and with plenty to reveal. The aromatics are laced with toasty new oak melding with the fruit. On palate very rich, lush and sweet, packed with layers of earth and brick, chocolate, toasty char and cedary oak flavours. Excellent tannin extraction provides a robust structure to frame the richness, and there is sufficient acidity for focus. A wine of great richness and structure, with classical Graves earthy terroir underneath. This will cellar 12-15+ years. 19.0-/20 Sep 2011 RRP $470.00
