Ch. Nairac Barsac 2009

Sweet Wine from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 13-Aug-2013
2eme Cru, 17 ha, 90% Sem, 6% Sau and 4% Mus. 13.0% alc. Very full, dark yellow colour with golden hues. The nose gently grows in volume, showing rich and concentrated aromas of tropical fruits, stonefruit essence, honey, orange marmalade, and a little caramel. The fruit is exotic, with the oak and botrytis in supporting layers. Very sweet, luscious and liquoreux, this is up-front with ripe citrus and tropical fruits, nuts, oak and a little toffee. The oily and unctuous textures give way to a little phenolic texture, resulting in a waxiness to the mouthfeel. The flavours are mouthfilling and broad, the acidity discreet, and the palate leads to a fine, slightly drying finish with ripe orange, tropical fruit and nutty nuances. This is a bold, lush and fruity Barsac that will develop breadth and toffee notes over the next 10+ years. 18.5+/20 Aug 2013 RRP $225.00
