Ch. Leoville Barton St Julien 2010

Cabernet Sauvignon from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 16-Sep-2013
2eme, 45 ha, 72% CS, 20% Me, 8% CF. Very dark, black-purple colour, saturated with a vivid purple edge. This has a very full, up-front and broad nose with sweetly ripe cassis aromas opening to reveal layers of spicy blackcurrants, red currants, dark florals and beautifully handled oaking. Full-bodied, this is open and mouthfilling with an underlying robustness of structure. Sweet black fruit essence and richness is framed by plenty of structure and tannin extraction, but with good refinement and linearity the result. The acidity is pure and energising, but the fulsome, flesh and slight rusticity in size carries the wine, which finishes with great length. This is a boldly structured and rich Leoville Barton that will keep 15+ years easily. A benchmark St Julien style. 18.5+/20 Sep 2013 RRP $340.00
