Ch. Le Bourdieu Medoc 2009

Merlot from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 20-Jun-2012
An old estate near Valeyrac. 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deepish ruby-red colour. The bouquet is rather shy, showing light plum and berry fruit aromas, with some cool, brackish elements. The nose becomes voluminous, but without great expression. Medium-full bodied, the berry fruit flavours are restrained, revealing spiciness and oak toast notes, but there is freshness. Tannin grip is prevalent and the wine has firmness which carries through the palate line and finish. This could develop more over the next 5-6 years. 16.5-/20 Jun 2012 RRP $25.50
