Ch. Lafaurie-Peyraguey Sauternes 2009

Sweet Wine from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 13-Aug-2013
1er Cru, 40 ha in Bommes, 90% Sem, 5% Sau and 5% Mus. 14.0% alc. Even, light golden-straw yellow colour. The nose is very elegant, fine and tightly bound, showing ripe, waxy Semillon fruit entwined with very refined botrytis. The oaking is near perfect for the restrained expression, and the bouquet builds to show real intensity with cut. Very sweet to taste, the palate is one of slender proportions, refined textures and flow, and purity with precision acid cut. The botrytis and nutty oaking are supportive of the fruit and the palate flows with poise to a long clean, crisp, drier finish than expected. This is classical, elegant and refined Sauternes, the stylishness impressive, and subtly growing richness. 10-15+ years. 18.5+/20 Aug 2013 .RRP $160.00
