Ch. Guiraud Sauternes 2007

Sweet Wine from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 01-Oct-2012
128 ha, 100 ha to vine. 65% Semillon, 35% Sauvignon Blanc, 40 y.o. on average. 18-24 months in 90% new oak. Brilliant, full, lemony-gold colour. This has a tight, slender nose with aromas of burnish herbs and toffee caramel, with hints of herbs, toasty oak, seaside sulphide complexities and musky botrytis. Sweet to taste, distinctive lantana, herb and ripe citrus flavours intermingle with honey and lime marmalade. Moderately luscious and restrained in richness and depth, there is good acid cut and a firmness, leading to a musky, bitter, nuanced finish. 6-8 years. 15,000 cases produced. 17.5/20 Sep 2012 RRP $165.00
