Ch. Gruaud-Larose St Julien 2008

Cabernet Sauvignon from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 29-Sep-2011
2eme, 82 ha, 57% CS, 7% CF, 32% Me, 4% PV Dark ruby-red colour with purple hues. The bouquet is elegant in proportion but layers of complex aromatics unfold, showing blackcurrant and dried herb fruit, dark plums and earth and considerable spicy, cedary oak. On palate very fine, elegant and tightly bound, the stylishness and finesse of style is the feature. Delicate, near-etheral flavours of black and red fruits with elements of mint and earth, laced with cedary oak open out through the length on the wine. The acidity is fine and provides good tension through to the long finish. Very elegant for Gruaud-Larose, this will keep 10-12+ years. 18.5/20 Sep 2011 RRP $175.00
