Ch. d’Yquem Sauternes 1969

Sweet Wine from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 18-Mar-2016
Limpid light gold with orange hues to the colour. Possessing a tight and moderately intense bouquet, very barley-sugar like, this had dark honey and caramel aromas. Though with excellent sweetness and richness levels on palate, this allied to fair acidity has resulted in a restrained drive, just a little low in tension and elegance, though there is freshness and liveliness. This was seen more in stature with the likes of Ch. Rieussec, rather than Ch. d'Yquem.  17.5/20 Aug 2010
