Ch. d’Yquem Sauternes 1950

Sweet Wine from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 18-Mar-2016
This has a dark, deep mahogany colour and a firmly concentrated, rich nose of burnished orange marmalade and tropical fruits, caramel and toffee, along with subtle tertiary wood, earth and undergrowth detail. This has integration and balance, the detail quite intricate but harmoniously expressed. This is beautifully luscious, soft and fully integrated, the mouthfeel exuding harmonious layers of brown honey and savoury marmalade, crème brulee, toffee and rancio detail. There is underlying alcohol drive and a refreshing thread of acidity. This is harmonious, fully mature and has a sense of elegance. This is in wonderful condition.19.0/20 Mar 2016 RRP $N/A
