Ch. de Sours Bordeaux Rosé 2011

Rose from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 21-Dec-2012
From the 25 ha of Château de Sours vineyards, 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, stainless-steel fermented to 12.5% alc. and 3 g/L rs, the wine given batonnage. Bright, light, eachy-salmon pink colour, lighter on rim. The bouquet is softly full with deep and concentrated aromas of strawberry fruit, redcurrants, herbs and earth, along with some flinty reductive notes. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, light flavours of redcurrants and herbs form a solid core. Bright acidity and a fine phenolic line provide good balance and proportion, and the wine flows with harmony through the palate. The flint and minerally elements are well-integrated with the fruitiness and carry through to a moderately sustained finish. This is a well-balanced and harmonious rosé showing redcurranty fruit and some flinty characters. Serve with Mediterranean salads and vegetables, and with poultry over the next 2 years. 14,000 cases made. 16.0+/20 Dec 2012 RRP $32.99
