Ch. d’Armailhac Pauillac 2009

Cabernet Sauvignon from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 21-Mar-2015
5eme Cru, 60% CS, 24% Me, 14% CF, 2% PV. Very dark, deep, ruby-red colour with some bricking on edge. The bouquet is full and densely packed with deep, savoury aromas of red fruits, earth and game, showing secondary development and some funky brettanomyces notes, the atmatics harmoniously melded and complex. Full-bodied, this is fulsome and mouthfilling with seamlessly interwoven ripe dark red berry fruits with fruitcake, dark plums and game. This is in its secondary phase and complexed by brettanomyces notes, the palate unfolding layers of meat and brown spices. The mouthfeel is solid, soft and rounded, the tannin extraction very supple and integral, and the acidity soft and mellow. The robustness of the wine is a feature. This has the density and fruit extract to age another 10-12+ years. 17.5/20 Mar 2015 RRP $140.00
