Ch. d’Armailhac Pauillac 2008

Cabernet Sauvignon from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 21-Mar-2015
5eme Cru, 54% CS, 29% Me, 15% CF, 2% PV Very dark deep, black-red colour, with lighter garnet hues on edge. The bouquet is full and well-concentrated with intense aromas of fruit in secondary development, showing savoury red plums and red-brown berry fruits with earth and dried herbs, along with tobacco and fruitcake complexities. There is an underlying freshness with cooler herb, leaf and curranty aromatics. Medium-full bodied, the palate is elegant in presentation but showing concentration. The fruit flavours of savoury plums, currants herbs and earth are compact, with the mouthfeel enlivened by elevated acidity. A fine line of tannin underscores the fruit, and the wine lines to fresh, clear, light finish with herbs, leaf and currants. This is a cooler expression, upfront and lively. Drink over 6-8 years. 17.0/20 Mar 2015 RRP $130.00
