Ch. Coutet Barsac 2009

Sweet Wine from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 13-Aug-2013
1er Cru, 38 ha in Barsac, 75% Sem, 23% Sau and 2% Mus. 14.0% alc. Bright, light golden yellow colour, lighter on edge. This has a very refined, tightly bound bouquet of sheer elegance and finesse. Delicately expressed aromas of waxy Semillon fruit and fine talc botrytis are melded with finely ripened citrus and tropical fruits, and nutty oak. Very sweet, slender and elegant in presentation, the richness is cut and balanced by fine, ripe acidity and seamless textures. Waxy, lanolin-like fruit with nuances of sweet citrus and tropical fruits, along with spicy nutty oak, all flow with energy and drive. This has great linearity, and the flavours and cutting textures lead to a tight, lingering nutty finish. This is a classical, classy Coutet and archetype Barsac. 12-15+ years possible. 19.0-/20 Aug 2013 RRP $262.00
