Ch. Cote de Baleau St Emilion Grand Cru 2009

Merlot from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 20-Jun-2012
This property is a neighbour of Ch. Fonroque. Michel Rolland consults. 70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark, black-hued ruby-red colour. The nose is marked by ripe black fruits and distinctive coffee and toast aromas, soft, full and attractively seducing, but essentially oak dominant. Medium-full bodied, this is a wine of density and presence. The flavours are solid and packed, the toasty oak prevailing over the ripe fruit characters. While initially sweet, the wood tannins show with a firm drying mouthfeel. Will the fruit emerge? Keep 6-8 years. 16.5+/20 Jun 2012 RRP $45.00
