Ch. Cos d’Estournel St Estephe 1960

Cabernet Sauvignon from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 25-Feb-2013
2eme Cru. Faded colour with tints of rose with mahogany, quite pale on rim. The bouquet is faded and delicate with nuances of roses and soft berry fruit, somewhat sappy and cool, with cedarwood and tea aromas unfolding. Light in body, quite dried with fruit lost, the tannins are light and fine in texture, quite silky. The acidity provides some life, and surprisingly the wine is harmonious and has some delight. Certainly a smaller scale wine, reflecting the dismal vintage, this has retained a sense of grace. 15.0/20 Feb 2013
