Ch. Beaulieu ‘Comtes de Taste’ Bordeaux Supérieur 2009

Merlot from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 25-Nov-2011
From a 15 ha vineyard at Salignac, north-west of Libourne, the wine 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon from vines averaging 25 y.o., aged 12 months in 60% new barriques. Stephane Derenoncourt consults here. Bright purple-hued ruby red colour, this has a tight, refined and perfumed bouquet of dark red plum fruits with violets, along with aromatic oak. Still tight and concentrated, this is medium-bodied and elegant in proportion, with bright floral notes to the plummy fruit. Fine tannins and fresh, balanced acidity provide real stylishness. A wine that will develop over the next 8-10 years with finesse. 17.5+/20 Nov 2011  RRP $26.50
