Ceres ‘Composition’ Central Otago Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 26-Jan-2014
☆☆☆☆☆
Bannockburn fruit hand-picked and cool-fermented to 14.0% alc. and 12 g/L RS, the wine undergoing batonnage. Bright, pale straw-yellow with a hint of blush, pale on rim. The bouquet is bright, clean and refreshing with yellow stonefruit, floral and steely, mineral aromas, entwined with tropical fruits and flinty nuances. Medium-dry to taste, restrained and delicate flavours of stonefruits, pears and honey show on a full, rounded and weighty palate. This has a good core with a vinous mouthfeel, and a positive linear flow with subtle phenolic textures and balanced acidity for freshness. The palate flows with good drive to a light, stonefruit flavoured finish. Aromatic on bouquet, this is a subtle flavoured medium-dry Pinot Gris with good mouthfeel. Serve with antipasto and first courses over the next 3+ years. 17.5/20 Jan 2014 RRP $28.00
