Ceres ‘Composition’ Bannockburn Central Otago Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 28-Sep-2015
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with some depth, pale on edge. The nose is soft and broad with good vinous presence, initially shy but gently unfolding aromas of white and yellow stonefruits, pears, honeysuckle and subtle, savoury nutty nuances with aeration. Medium dry and medium-full bodied, gently rich flavours of yellow stonefruits, pears and honeysuckle form a good core, and open to fill the palate. The mouthfeel is soft and harmoniously textured, with soft integrated acidity. The wine flows smoothly and carries through to a mellow, lingering finish with pear and honied notes. This is a soft, gently fruity medium-dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit and honied notes and a soft mouthfeel. Match with poultry and pork dishes over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from 55% Bannockburn and remainder Cromwell Basin, tank-fermented to 13.9% alc. and 10 g/L RS. 17.5-/20 Sep 2015 RRP $28.00
