Ceres ‘Composition’ Bannockburn Central Otago Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 26-Mar-2015
Bright pale straw colour, very pale on rim. The nose is fresh and bright with softly concentrated white stonefruit kernel aromas entwined with layers of flint and chalky minerals, revealing white floral notes with aeration. Dryish to taste and medium to medium-full bodied, the palate features a well-concentrated core of white stonefruits melded with honeysuckle and floral elements, and complexing mineral detail. This has crisp and refreshing acidity to balance the fruit depth, and the wine has a lively mouthfeel driven by some underlying alcoholic power. The wine follows a fine-textured phenolic line leading to a concentrated, dry finish. This is a concentrated, refreshing, dry Pinot Gris with flavours of stonefruits and chalky mineral textures. Match with most white meat dishes over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from the ‘Full Circle’ vineyard, on Felton Road, stainless-steel fermented to 14.5% alc. and 8 g/L RS, the wine spending 4 months on lees. 18.0-/20 Mar 2015 RRP $28.00
