Ceres ‘Black Rabbit Vineyard’ Bannockburn Central Otago Riesling 2015

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 28-Sep-2015
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on rim. This has a softly rich and rounded nose of exotic white florals lime fruit, honeysuckle and nuances of musk melded with suggestions of herbs and minerals. The aromatics show depth and layered detail. Medium-dry to medium in sweetness and light-bodied, bright and vibrantly lifted flavours of white florals, lime fruit, honeysuckle, herbs and musk form a rich, rounded core. The wine follows a fine, smooth line with slippery acidity which enhances the fruit richness and lusciousness. There is good energy as fine phenolic textures emerge to carry the wine through to a well-balanced, dryish finish with exotic floral and honied elements. This is a rich, medium Riesling with exotic floral and honied flavours, a slippery mouthfeel and dryish finish. Serve as an aperitif and with mildly spicy Asian fare over the next 5+ years. Fruit from a steep, north-facing slope, vines planted in 2008, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 10.5% alc. and 30 g/L RS, TA 8.1 g/L and pH 3.05. 18.5/20 Sep 2015 RRP $23.00
