Ceres ‘Black Rabbit’ Bannockburn Central Otago Riesling 2017

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 10-Aug-2017
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with suggestions of green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is very elegant and tight with finely concentrated aroma of white and yellow stonefruits, subtle citrus fruit notes, some honeysuckle and thirst-quenching wet-stone minerals. The freshness is attractive and the aromatics build in intensity with aeration.. Sweet to taste and light-bodied, the palate features fragrant and aromatic, bright and lively fruit flavours of limes with white and yellow floral and honeysuckle. The fruit richness and residual sugar lend a near unctuous mouthfeel which is balanced by plenty of fruit extract and fine phenolic textures, and refreshing, lacy acidity. This has lovely poise, and the succulent fruit flavours carry to an elegantly concentrated finish with soft mineral nuances. This is a beautifully rich and luscious, near unctuous medium-sweet Riesling with lime, floral and honied flavours, fine textures and mineral element. Clean fruit with no botrytis, from the ‘Black Rabbit’ vineyard, indigenous yeast fermented in tank to 10.6% alc. and 45 g/L RS. 18.5+/20 Aug 2017 RRP $27.95
