Caythorpe Pinot Noir 2019, Marlborough

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Aug-2020
Moderate, light ruby-red with some depth, even throughout. The nose is softly full with primary fruit of cherries and boysenberries, unfolding light mineral and nutty oak element. Medium-bodied, the fruit is upfront and vibrant with red cherries and boysenberries, succulent and lively in character. The mouthfeel is supported by lively acidity and fine-grained tannin extraction with a light firm grip; along with subtle nutty oak detail added interest. This a fruity Pinot Noir with flavours of red cherries and boysenberries with a lightly firm tannin grip and nutty oak element. Match with stir-fried beef or lamb with soy over the next 2-3 years. Fermented in open-top fermenters to 13% alc. Aged in French oak for 10 months. 17+/20 pts Aug 2020 RRP $25
