Caythorpe Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-Nov-2015
Brilliant, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. This has a soft and harmonious, moderately full nose with aromas of pungent passionfruit unfolding tropical fruit, cut grass, fresh herb and lime detail, along with nuances of minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is soft and openly accessible with ethereal flavours of ripe passionfruit revealing waves of tropical fruits, limes, capsicums and cut grass that fill the mouth. The mouthfeel is soft-textured and rounded, but refreshing with bright and piquant acidity underlining the fruit, and the wine flows easily, leading to a long. lingering, softly concentrated finish of passionfruit. This is a softly refreshing and harmoniously presented Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit flavours. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Caythorpe’ vineyard, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 2.3 g/L RS. 17.5+/20 Sep 2015 RRP $19.95 Disclaimer: This wine is distributed by ‘Wine2Trade’, the company under which ‘Raymond Chan Wine Reviews’ operates
