Caythorpe Marlborough Riesling 2017

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Oct-2017
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless. The nose is elegantly presented with fresh aromas of limes and lemonade, white and exotic florals. Citrus blossom elements and hints of honeysuckle. The aromatics possess clarity and purity. Dryish to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate has good depth of lime and lemon fruit flavours with white florals and hints of citrus blossom and honeysuckle, forming a tightly bound core. The mouthfeel is fresh with crisp, lacy acidity and the wine flows along a fine-textured line of fruit extract, leading to a sustained citrus-fruited and floral-nuanced finish. This is a fine and taut dryish Riesling with lime and lemon, exotic florals and honeysuckle flavours on a fresh, fine-textured palate. Match with Asian cuisine over the next 4+ years. Fruit from the ‘Caythorpe’ vineyard, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 11.5% alc. and 7.6 g/L RS, TA 7.9g/L and pH 3.0. 18.0+/20 Oct 2017 RRP $19.95 Disclaimer: This wine is distributed by ‘Wine2Trade’, the company under which ‘Raymond Chan Wine Reviews’ operates
