Cattier Champagne ‘Brut Sensation’ NV

Sparkling Wine from France - Champagne
Review Date : 02-Oct-2014
50% Pinot Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, fermented to 12.5% alc., with 10 g/L dosage, the wine spending 24 months on lees. Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. The bubbles are moderately fine and very persistent. This has a soft and refined, elegant nose with subtle aromas of white stonefruits expressed with precision and focus. Delicate bready, yeast autolysis aromas complement the fruit, with nuances of chalky minerals and nutty elements unfolding in the glass. Dry to taste, this is tight and refined in presentation, with very fine mousse and textures carrying flavours of white florals and stonefruits. The yeasty autolysis is intricate and delicate, and fine acidity provides lift and refreshing vibrancy, enhancing the fruit sweetness. The wine leads to an elegant, lingering, stonefruit and bready nuanced finish. This is an elegant and refined Champagne with subtle fruit and autolysis interest. Serve as an aperitif over the next 3 years. (500 ml) 18.0/20 Oct 2014RRP $49.95
