Cattier Champagne ‘Brut Premier Cru’ NV

Sparkling Wine from France - Champagne
Review Date : 02-Oct-2014
Bright straw-yellow colour with hints of light gold, pale on rim. The bubbles are very fine with good persistence. The nose is gently voluminous with aromas of white and yellow stonefruits harmoniously integrated with bready and toasty yeast autolysis interest, unfolding complexing aldehyde and nutty notes with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, up-front savoury stonefruit flavours show with good richness and are entwined with bready, yeasty autolysis flavours. Nutty, aldehyde notes add a layer of secondary detail. The mouthfeel features a soft creamy mousse, balanced by fresh, lively acidity. Some phenolic textures emerge and carry the wine to a dry, lingering, mouthwatering finish. This is an up-front, all-round Champagne with balanced flavours of stonefruits, yeast and aldehyde interest. Serve as an aperitif, seafood and white meat dishes over the next 2+ years. 40% Pinot Meunier, 35% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay fermented to 12.5% alc., with 10 g/L dosage, the wine spending 24 months on lees. 17.5+/20 Oct 2014 RRP $59.95
