Dark, deep, ruby-red colour with a lighter rim. The nose is full with ethereal aromas of ripe, dark, savoury red berry fruits melded with nutty oak, unfolding plum, earth, fruitcake and chocolate nuances from a well-concentrated core. Medium-bodied and elegantly proportioned, the palate features a rounded core and a sweet, juicy amalgam of savoury red berry fruit, sweet oak, and subtle earthy elements. This is moderately extracted with soft tannin grip, and the mouthfeel is enlivened by balancing acidity that carries the flavours to a sustained, fresh finish. This is a softly textured, smooth and lush Tempranillo with red fruit and sweet oak flavours. Match with Mediterranean and Middle Eastern fare over the next 4 years. Rioja clone 776 fruit, fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine on skins 8 days post ferment and aged 18 months in 33% new French oak. 114 cases made. 17.5-/20 Mar 2015 RRP $29.99
