Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, very light on rim. The nose is firmly concentrated with youthful aromas of green stonefruits and cooler spectrum gooseberry and herbal nuances still to integrate. Attractive spicy and nutty oak elements add interest. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, gently rich flavours of nectarines and spicy green stonefruits form a soft core. The fruit is fresh and vibrantly aromatic, and harmoniously interwoven with a soft-textured mouthfeel and flow. Subtle oaking adds a layer of interest, and gentle acidity carries the palate to a smooth, mellow, lightly textured, dry and lingering finish. This is a soft-textured and smooth-flowing oak-influenced Sauvignon Blanc. Match with herb-marinated poultry and pork over the next 3+ years. Fruit from the ‘Limeloader’ vineyard, indigenous yeast barrel-fermented, the wine aged 6 months on lees in 20% new French oak. 17.5/20 Aug 2014 RRP $19.99
