Catalina Sounds Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 19-Nov-2014
Brilliant, pale straw colour with slight green hues, pale on edge. The nose is very elegant, refined and tightly bound with aromatic, pungent passionfruit aromas with fresh lime and herb nuances and minerals at the core. This is refreshing and mouthwatering. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is elegantly presented with gentle, lusciously sweet and lively passionfruit flavours. This has a gentle core and line, with very fine textures and soft acidity carrying the flavours to a lingering finish with restrained fruit flavours. This is a tight and elegant Sauvignon Blanc with soft, luscious passionfruit flavours and fine textures. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables, and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Marlborough fruit, 75% Southern Valleys, 20% Renwick and 5% Lower Wairau, fermented in tank with a portion by indigenous yeasts, and 6% in French oak puncheons and foudre to 13.1% alc. and 1.7 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees with the barrel portion undergoing batonnage. 17.5/20 Nov 2014 RRP $23.00
