Castello di Radda Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2011

Sangiovese from Italy - Tuscany
Review Date : 29-Aug-2015
Dark, deep ruby-red with lighter garnet on the edge. The bouquet is elegant and very refined in expression with excellent intensity. Dark cherry fruit with fragrance and perfume lift shows spices and a little resinous oak. The nose reveals leather and liquorice with aeration. Medium-full bodied, the palate is elegantly presented with refined and stylish dark red cherry fruit. This lively and vibrant, the mouthfeel with vitality and energy. Complexing nutty, resinous oak and spices are integral, and the flavours supported by very fine-grained, powdery tannin extraction and structure. The wine is dry, with drive, line and length. This is an elegant, refined, classical Chianti Riserva that will age another 10-12+ years. 100% Sangiovese fermented to 15.0% alc., the wine aged over 9 months in 20% new small barrels. 18.5/20 Aug 2015 RRP $55.00
