Castello della Sala ‘Bramito del Cervo’ Umbria Chardonnay IGT 2011

Chardonnay from Italy - Other
Review Date : 04-Aug-2012
Fruit from the ‘Castello della Sala' vineyards, barrel-fermented to 13.0% alc., and aged 5 months in oak, with MLF. Bright straw-yellow colour, pale on edge. The bouquet of ripe citrus and topical fruits is gently full and upfront, and reveals sweet, nutty oak in support. Medium-bodied, softly ripe tropical fruit flavours are presented simply and cleanly, with some toasty oak in support. This has a soft textured mouthfeel and understated, but good lacy acidity. The wine is slender in proportion and finishes with a fine, dry finish with citrus and nutty nuances. This is an elegant, modern Chardonnay to keep 4-5 years. 17.5-/20 Jul 2012
