Casa Boher Merlot 2017, Argentina

Merlot from Argentina
Review Date : 30-May-2022
Deep ruby-red, lighter on the rim. The nose is full, with some power, aromas of red berries, plums and cherries entwined with meat and cigar nuances. Medium-full bodied, aromas of red berries, plums and cherries have a vibrant core, savoury, meaty nuances interweaving cigar and spice. The mouthfeel possesses fine-grained tannin with a light grip and dryness in the linger. Lively acidity lends a vibrant drive and carries the red fruit, cigar spice and savoury nuances to a long, dry finish. This is a juicy, dry palate Merlot with savoury development and a fine, light tannin grip. Match with char siu and barbeque meat over the next 2-3 years. 100% Merlot from the Uco Valley, Mendoza, fermented to 14.1% alc, 40% aged 8 months in first use French oak barrels. 17.5+/20 pts (89 pts) May 2022 RRP $31
