Casa Boher Malbec 2019, Argentina

Malbec from Argentina
Review Date : 30-May-2022
Deep, full ruby-red, slightly lighter edged. This has a freshly soft bouquet, greeted with violet, plums and blackberries interweaving herbaceous and cigar nuances. Full-bodied, aromas of violet melded with plums, ripe blackberries, and vine leaf nuance enriched by cigar, nutmeg and clove spices. The fruit shows concentration and ripeness, enlivened by fine acidity and framed by ripe, fine-grained tannins. Round-edged, savoury tannins provided a comforting mouthfeel and carried through to a sustained finish. This Malbec shows fine structured, ripe tannins, integrated oak details and lush fruit underlay. Match with sirloin steak and braised lamb shank over the next 3-5 years. 100% Malbec from the Uco Valley, Mendoza, 60% matured for 12 months in first and second use French oak barrels. 14.3% alc. 18+/20 pts (91 pts) May 2022 RRP $31
