Cabernet Sauvignon from Argentina
Review Date : 30-May-2022
Deep, full ruby-red with a slight garnet hue, lighter on the rim. The nose is gently full, aromas of red berries, cassis interweave cedar, nutmeg and clove. Full-bodied, mouth-filling and savoury aromas lead the palate; mulberries, red berries and cassis are mellowed, melded with nutmeg, clove, liquorice and cedar. Ripe, fine-grained tannins softly coated the palate, unfolding coffee, savoury and meaty nuances. The core is mellowed and integrated with alcohol drive, and fine acidity enlivened the prominent oak finish. This is a ripe, softened, fine-structured Cabernet Sauvignon with a red fruit base and oak spice at a mature stage. Match with beef stew and lamb shepherd's pie over the next 3 years. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Uco Valley, Mendoza, 50% matured for 12 months in first-use French oak barrels. 14.2% alc. 18/20 pts (90 pts) May 2022 RRP $31
